Cooperation Program for EDCF in Rwanda

The Government of Korea established the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) in 1987.
The EDCF plays an important role as Korea's representative aid fund and assists developing countries
by providing funding for their industrial development and economic stability.

This program, in conjunction with the Korean government’s EDCF Agreement for University of
Rwanda Infrastructure Development Project, implements activities that contribute to
capacity building in Rwandan higher education.

1) Implementation of education and training for Rwandan higher education institutions

In cooperation with Rwandan universities, entrepreneurship training, teacher competency strengthening seminars, and joint research are conducted to strengthen the capabilities of Rwandan participants and contribute towards sustainable development in Rwanda.

2) Build and support education infrastructure

To ensure that higher education in Rwanda is not interrupted even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we build a robust educational infrastructure for learning by establishing and supporting the basic, underlying framework and features for on- and off-line education at the request of partner universities.
