The UNESCO UNITWIN Project Team of Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) held the  ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop for Cultivating Next Generation Entrepreneurs’on May 21 and 22.

This workshop was held to cultivate next-generation entrepreneurs of the 4th industrial era with AI expertise. Professor Geun-Bae Chang of the School of Management and Economics of Handong Global University and Professor Seong-Min Kim of the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies were invited as lecturers, and about 60 students from developing countries from Handong Global University, the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College of Rwanda and Jakarta International University of Indonesia participated online and offline.

Professor Seong-Min Kim of the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies, who served as a lecturer in this workshop, said, “acquiring technology is essential for the development of developing countries in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” He emphasized that it is “very important for entrepreneurs to understand contemporary science.”

Participants in this workshop explored examples and items applicable in their home countries through various business cases that incorporate AI.

Professor Geun-Bae Chang, who planned this workshop, said, “Convergence-type, talented individuals who can encompass technology and management are the types of professionals this era demands. We need to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs who can understand the demands of the times and the flow of technology.

Meanwhile, the Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training project of UNESCO UNITWIN aims to nurture talented individuals in higher education with an entrepreneurial spirit for the sustainable development of developing countries. Various educational cooperation projects, such as support of major-related books, research journals, and educational equipment to partner universities in developing countries, have been carried out.

The UNESCO UNITWIN Project Team is currently focusing on cooperation with the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College of Rwanda and Jakarta International University of Indonesia and plans to expand the project to countries such as Cameroon and Peru.
