*UNESCO UNITWIN (University Twinning and Networking) is a program where universities from developed nations form a network with universities in developing nations to support the education and research institutes of these universities. This aims to narrow the gap in knowledge and support the self-sustainability of developing nations, founded by UNESCO in 1992. Handong Global University was selected as the First UNITWIN Sponsor University in 2007.

* Besides this, Handong Global University was selected as the first Intern Exchange Agreement University in South Korea with OECD (2008), sponsoring University of UN ACADEMIC IMPACT (2011), operating University of the UN Depository Library (2014), and host institution of the UN NGO Conference (2016).
